This time last week I was waking up on my wedding day, and just kept saying to Joey — “We’re getting married today. That is SO WEIRD.” And now we’ve been married for a week and it still feels weird, but in a good way. It’s pretty much exactly the same, with the addition of a couple pieces of metal, new fun titles and the unicorn. I can’t forget the unicorn. You know, the magical marriage unicorn that dances on rainbows 😉
But I digress.
I haven’t done an Endorsed in awhile, and thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite new products. I did my own wedding day makeup because I didn’t feel like paying some stranger$200 to make me look like myself. All it took was a trip to Sephora with some makeup savvy ladies, and a stop at the Bobbi Brown counter and I had a whole new arsenal of fab products.
In no particular order.
Bare Escentuals Prime Time Foundation Primer: I love bare minerals powder, but was skeptical of this stuff because I was worried it would feel like I had cream foundation on or something. Not the case AT ALL. It has a satin finish that makes your skin feel smooth without feeling tacky. I just put on my T-zone areas, where I usually get shiny as the day wears on, and it keeps my make-up looking fresh and my skin looking shine free all day! It’s a bit on the pricey side at $22 for a tiny container, but a little bit goes a long way. Would definitely buy again!Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Eye Shadow: Before this product, me and eyeshadow just didn’t get along. I suffered from the dreaded “eye shadow crease,” and that’s just not a good look on anyone. Well, this cream eye shadow was a game changer (Thanks, Sar!) — it lasts ALL day without creasing or smearing, and comes in every color you could want. It works as a base too if you want to layer other colors over it. For my wedding day I used the cream eye shadow in Sand Dollar and then used a regular powder shadow in Fawn to highlight. They totally work for every day too depending on how much you apply. A pot of this stuff costs $22, but again it will last a long time and is absolutely worth every penny.
NARS Pure Matte Lipstick: I don’t wear lipstick on a regular basis, so I wanted a neutral color and something that would last. The lady at Sephora pointed me in the direction of Nars Matte Lipstick in a color called Bangkok (not the color shown), which is a soft rose color. On my wedding day I pumped it up with some Yves Saint Laurent Golden Gloss, but when the gloss wore off, I felt like I still had a nice color going thanks to the NARS lipstick. I’ve been using both products separately all week. NARS was $25 and the YSL gloss was$30. They are both great products, but a little pricey for me so I’m not entirely sure I’d buy them again. The Twilight movie was starting and I was rushing to meet Sara & Mary…so I just threw them in my bag without looking at the price tag 🙂
Bobbi Brown Blush in Pale Pink: Not going to lie, the electric pink color of this blush freaked me out. But then the makeup artist told me it was the color Kate Middleton wore on her wedding day. SOLD! This blush really is the perfect shade of pale pink, leaves a matte finish and just gives you a subtle healthy glow. It’s $24, and if you like Kate as much as I do, definitely worth it 🙂
