9/17/11: Jackie’s Wedding Recap

In the universal laws of weddings, I swear it says somewhere that ceremonies never really start on time and the bridal party is always a little frantic to get to the chapel. And if that’s the case, then I will say that Jackie’s wedding defied the universe because not only were we on time, but we were actually 30 minutes EARLY to the church. It actually made for fun memories as we all enjoyed some downtime on the party bus and watched as Jackie & Ryan’s friends and family arrived. We were of course hidden behind dark tinted windows, but that didn’t stop us from waving at everyone. Jackie’s line — “I’m taking it all in.”

Another great and lasting memory of the day was Jackie recreating a photo of our grandmother on her wedding day (that’s the photo she’s holding)…

I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a little emotional, in that beautiful, we-know-she’s-smiling-down-right-now type of way.

Oh, and can I switch gears to talk about how much fun I had with all the bridesmaids. Such a great group of girls from all walks to Jackie’s life – cousins, friends she grew up with, friends from college, new & future-sister-in-laws…

Handsome husband, right? And those bouquets!! Biggest bouquets I’ve ever seen…easily weighed 5lbs each.

Lets end with a riddle. How many bridesmaids does it take to bustle a dress?

I count 4 in this photo, there may have been more at some point πŸ™‚ Team work!

Jackie’s wedding day was fun, enjoyable and pure happiness from start to finish. You can see more of my photos here.

Jackie & Ryan — congratulations again and thank you for letting me be a small part of your big day. Welcome to the family Ryan!
